This is the tendency to prefer or to stick with the existing or current state of affairs, even if there are potential benefits or alternatives available. For example, if we have always hired candidates with a certain type of experience or education, we may be more likely to continue hiring candidates with that type of experience or education, even if there are other types of experience or education that may be more relevant or valuable for the job or the organization. The status quo bias can cause us to make biased or conservative hiring decisions, and it can lead us to overlook the value of change, innovation, or growth in the hiring process.
