The overgeneralization bias

This is the tendency to draw broad or sweeping conclusions from limited or specific evidence. For example, if we have had a bad experience with a candidate from a certain background or organization, we may be more likely to generalize that experience and to believe that all candidates from that background or organization are likely to be bad, without considering the individual differences or context. The overgeneralization bias can cause us to make biased or unfair hiring decisions, and it can lead us to overlook the value of objectivity, evidence, or context in the hiring process.
